To Draw Near

A study in scripture of how the Lord has protected his people during times of judgment and the necessity of his people to stay together in the place of safety during those times. This message was given by Associate Messianic Rabbi Bruce Neiger during our Saturday Shabbat Services on February 7, 2009

Technical Note: We had some serious sound issues that we have tried to rectify as best as we could. A couple sections of the podcast have slightly less quality than the rest. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Let Your Light Shine

“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:17b ESV

The body of Messiah is called to let the light that is in us, His Light, shine through us. Yet many people in the body of Messiah are not letting that light shine. Even worse, many are letting their light grow dim. This message addresses that issue and gives us help in how to let the light become brighter and shine before others.

This message was given by Associate Messianic Rabbi Bruce Neiger during our Saturday Shabbat service on February 28, 2009

The Fear of the Lord

Messianic Rabbi Ed Rothman discusses a very important topic in our lives, the fear of the Lord. It is a topic that has been delivered many, many times to the body of Messiah yet is still quite relevant to our lives in the present day. This message was originally delivered in October 2006.

Yeshua, The First Fruits

This first half of this message deals with the death and resurrection of Messiah Yeshua and when it happened. Messianic Rabbi Ed Rothman gives his opinions as well as scriptures on the subject. The second half of the sermon deals with answers to those sceptics who do not believe the biblical account of Yeshua’s death and resurrection. This message was given during our Shabbat Service on Saturday April 11, 2009.

Go Forward

After the deliverance of the children of Israel from Egypt, the L-rd deliberately led them to the sea. Scripture records that the L-rd told them to “Go Forward” and cross the sea. Despite all the signs and wonders, they were still unable to trust the L-rd for His deliverance.

The same issues apply to us as followers of Y’shua. The Lord has delivered us from our “Egypt” and is telling us to “Go Forward.” Yet, like the children of Israel, we are letting our circumstances and fears stop us from fulfilling His calling on our lives. Yet, despite all of our circumstances and fears, He is still telling us to “Go Forward.” This message was given by Associate Messianic Rabbi Bruce Neiger on 4/18/2009 during our Saturday Shabbat Service.

Truth in the Power of the Holy Spirit

Yeshua’s earthly ministry, done as G-d in the flesh (a man), was done in the anointing and power of the Spirit of G-d. That same ministry and anointing is available to us as His followers. This message was given by Associate Messianic Rabbi Bruce Neiger during our Saturday A.M. Shabbat Service on April 25, 2009.

Practical Principles for Dealing with Recent Prophetic Pronouncements

Actual Title: “Practical Principles for Prophetic Pronouncements”. A message that deals with some of the recent prophetic pronouncements that many people in the body of Messiah are discussing. Many of those people, because of those messages, have been walking in fear and spreading that fear to others. This message brings a biblical balance to the topic of end-time events. We need to remember to seek first the kingdom of God and to remember that the Lord will take care of his people. This podcast is an edited version of the original sermon. This message was given by Messianic Rabbi Ed Rothman during our Shabbat Service on May 2, 2009

At the end of the message the congregation read from a personalized version of Psalm 91 (First person). To download that copy, please go to http://www.seedofabraham.org/Text/new%20site/Podcast%20resources.html and look for the message titled “Psalm 91Personalized”

Technical note: We used a different mike and experienced problems of interference and sound quality. We apologize for the problems.

The Nurturing Heart of God

Full Title:God the Father is a Mother Too! (The Nurturing Heart of God). The first part of this message deals with how much the Father loves us and cares for us. The second part deals with more serious aspects of the Lords nurturing nature that is not discussed as frequently; The Lord, like any mother (parent) confronts sin in our lives and also groans and travails in prayer and intercession till we become more like him. Paul (Saul) frequently discusses that subject in scripture about how much he travails in prayer and intercession (like any parent) for those under his care.

Before the sermon, in the first 5 minutes of the podcast, Rabbi Ed gives us a humorous list of questions and answers that a second grade class said about mothers. This message was given by Messianic Rabbi Ed Rothman during our Saturday Shabbat Service on 5-19-2009.

Pulling Down Strongholds

Many of us, like the prodigal son, are ashamed of our past before Yeshua. We are afraid that people will not love us if they really “knew” who we were. We are even afraid to walk in God’s love. Yet like the father in the parable of the prodigal son, the Lord welcomes us because of who He is, not because of who we are or were. We need to walk in the light of how much God loves us and start to pull down those lies and other strongholds of the enemy. This message was given by Associate Messianic Rabbi Bruce Neiger on May 23, 2009.

Bishop Francis Macharia

Bishop Francis Macharia oversees 100’s of congregations in West Africa. He also runs orphanages that have saved 100’s of children from the ravages of War and AIDS. Bishop Macharia, a new friend of our congregation, talks about what has happened in his life in the past year in his home country of Kenya, particularly in light of the civil war that is occurring there. From there he weaves a lot of scripture and scripture stories together to help us during times of trial. If you feel like your back is against the wall and need a word from the Lord to help you, then this message is for you. This message was delivered on May 30, 2009 during our Saturday Shabbat/Shavuot Service.

Repentance, Renewal, Revival part 1

This summer, many congregations across the US will be taking part in what is knows as the Ravenhill Challenge. Many congregations will start in July, but some have chosen, as our congregation is doing, to start just after Shavuot/Pentecost. The Ravenhill challenge is a grassroots movement seeking to spark a cry in the body of Messiah for true revival. Each week during this challenge, congregations will be reading chapters from Dr. Michael L. Brown’s book “The End of the American Gospel Enterprise.” There are many voices in the world and in the body of Messiah stating that we need this or that thing, however, before all else we must come to grips with the fact that the body of Messiah desperately needs to repent of our sins before we see revival.

Technical note: A few minutes into the message there are several seconds where the message became damaged somehow. We have recovered those seconds as best as we can, but there is a noticeable drop in quality for those few seconds.

Repentance, Renewal, Revival part 2

Continuing in “The Ravenhill Challenge”, we are discussing repentance and revival, including reading from Dr. Michael L Browns Book “The End of the American Gospel Enterprise.” This sermon consists of 3 parts: In the first part, Rabbi Ed is reading an article entitled “The Question that Changed My Life.” This article contains a powerful message and includes a statement that will haunt you for many months. In the second part Rabbi Ed reads from Michael Browns book. In the final part you will hear the prayers of several people with prayers of repentance, asking for forgiveness and seeking revival.

To download a copy of the article “The Question that Changed My Life” please go to our podcast resource page on our website at http://www.seedofabraham.org/Text/new%20site/Podcast%20resources.html and look for the article of the same name.

Repentance, Renewal, Revival part 3

Continuing in “The Ravenhill Challenge”, we are discussing repentance and revival, including reading from Dr. Michael L Browns Book “The End of the American Gospel Enterprise.” This sermon consists of 3 parts: In part 1, Rabbi Ed reads from an article about a mini outbreak/outpouring/revival that occurred recently at a famous theme park in California. In Part 2 he reads a couple chapters from Dr. Browns book, and in part 3 some excerpts of some prayers that occurred after the sermon.

God See's Your Heart

A survey of what scripture has to say about man’s heart, and the fact that the Lord sees our heart. This message was given by Associate Messianic Rabbi Bruce Neiger during our Shabbat Service on July 11, 2009.
