Doctrinal Statement of faith of the Seed of Abraham Messianic
Congregation.
We believe that the Bible, composed
of both the Tenach (First) and Brit HaDashah (New Covenant), is
the only infallible and authoritative Word of God. (Psalms 12:6-7,
Timothy 3:16-17)
We believe that G-d is One, as declared
by the Shema (Deuteronomy 6:4), manifested in three persons; the
Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh), as revealed
in the Scriptures. (Genesis 1:26, Isaiah 48:16-17, Matthew 28:19)
We believe the in deity of the L-rd
Yeshua, the Messiah, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in
His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed
blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right
hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
(Isaiah 9:6-7, 7:14, Isaiah 53:4-8, Isaiah 61:1, Isaiah 53:10-12,
Psalms 16:10-11, Zechariah 12:10 & 14:3-4)
We believe that for the salvation of
the lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit (Ruach
HaKodesh) is absolutely essential, which comes through repentance
and faith in the atonement of Messiah Yeshua (John 3:3-8, Romans
5:8-11, Titus 3:5)
We believe in the present ministry and
gifts of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit), by whose indwelling the
believer is enabled to live a godly life. (Acts 2:38-39, Romans
12:4-8, 1Corinthians 12:4-11, Romans 8:1-17)
We believe in the resurrection of both
the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto eternal life, and
they that are lost, unto eternal separation from G-d. (Daniel 12:2-3,
Psalms 9:17, Job 19:25-27)
We believe in the spiritual unity of
all believers in the L-rd Yeshua, the Messiah, and that all are
now partakers of the spiritual inheritance of Israel. (Psalms 133:1-3,
1Corinthians 12:12-27, Ephesians 2:11-19)
We believe that Jewish followers of
Yeshua are called to maintain their Jewish Biblical heritage and
remain a part of their people Israel and the universal body of believers.
(1Corinthians 7:17-19, 1Corinthians 9:19-22, Galatians 6:15-16,
Ephesians 4:1-6)
We believe that no one is justified
through keeping the Law of Moses. Rather, the Torah was given as
a guide for godly living and is relevant for believers today.
(Romans 3:20, 2Timothy 3:16-17)
We believe that Gentile believers in
Messiah are grafted into the Jewish Olive Tree, and thus are encouraged
to understand and appreciate their Jewish roots.
(Galatians 3:29, Romans 11:16-17)
We believe in G-d's everlasting covenant
relationship with the Jewish people, which includes physical (land)
and spiritual blessings. (Genesis 17:4-8, Jeremiah 31:31-37)
We believe that in the end of days,
after much tribulation, all of Israel will turn to God and accept
Yeshua as their Messiah. The Law will go forth from Zion and the
Word of the L-rd from Jerusalem
(Zechariah 12:2-3, 14:2, 12:10, 13:1, 14:3-9, Isaiah 2:1-5)
We believe that marriage is an institution
created and designed by G-d to be the cornerstone of society. We
believe that the Holy Scriptures reveal G-d's will for marriage
as a covenant union between one man and one woman. We define man
(male) & woman (female) as the gender that each individual was
formed to be within their mother's womb (Psalm 139:13-16, Isaiah
49:1 & 5 & Jeremiah 1:5).
"G-d created man in His own image, in the image of G-d created
he them; male and female created He them. And G-d blessed them,
and said unto them, 'Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the
earth, and subdue it.'" - Genesis 1:27-28a -
"And the L-RD G-d said, 'It is not good for man to be alone;
I will make him a helper fit for him.' And Adam gave names to
all the animals; but for Adam there was not found a helper fit
for him. And the L-RD G-d caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam
and he slept. He then took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh
thereof; and with the rib that the L-RD G-d had taken from man,
He made a woman and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, 'This
is now flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she
was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and
his mother and shall cleave unto his wife and they shall be one
flesh.' And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were
not ashamed" - Genesis 2:18, 20-25 -
"Have you not read, that He which made them at the beginning,
made them male and female, and for this cause shall a man leave
father and mother and shall cleave unto his wife: and the two
shall become one flesh? Wherefore they are no more two, but one
flesh. What therefore G-d has joined together, let no one put
asunder." - Matthew 19:4-6 & Ephesians 5:31 -
We believe that G-d created sexual intimacy
as a blessed gift to be shared by one man (a husband) and one woman
(a wife); only to be experienced and enjoyed within the sacred covenant
union of Holy Matrimony.
"Marriage is to be held in honor in all things, and the
marriage bed is undefiled. But G-d will judge those who are unchaste
and adulterous." - Hebrews 13:4 -
